First, I want to tell you about some recent changes in our classroom. We have welcomed a new young friend to the classroom, Wilder. He is the son of Andrew (who is our music director) and Rachel Martelle. We also said goodbye to our friend Pearl. We wish you well in all of your future endeavors.
It was great seeing everyone this week at conferences and checking in with you about your child's progress in the classroom. It has been wonderful to see the class develop throughout this year into a very close classroom community and to observe each child's progress on his/her Montessori journey.
We are very excited to announce the success of the Heifer International Project! Thank you to everyone for supporting the project and helping your child to collect coins. We spent a few weeks sorting and counting the money. The grand total is $220.00! During circle we made a list of the cost of the animals to calculate what we can buy. The children decided to buy a sheep, a flock of chicks, a gaggle of geese, and a trio of rabbits. These animals will not only directly benefit the families they are given to, but future offspring from the animals will benefit the larger community.
